Opal Cylinder Bead Necklace
An array of pink, beige, brown, dark grey, and earth toned opal beads are strung on beige silk thread and fastened with a handcrafted sterling silver fish hook clasp. Pink and pastel opal are called "common opal" in the trade since it does not display "play-of-color" when flashed with light. These opals are beautiful in their subdued color palette and perfect for layering with other necklaces.
The clasp is reminiscent of a fish hook; inspired by my love affair with the sea, the history of whaling on Long Island, sea vessels, fish markets, and fish of all kind.
