The inspiration for this ring was the 1.93 ct green chrysoberyl gemstone. One of the main facets for my inspiration always stems from a stones' color.
Inspiration: "I knew I wanted to create a strong hefty ring with this stone. The strong square shape of the chrysoberyl beckoned for an equally strong ring design. Setting the gem with points facing north and south rather than straight square is unexpected and compliments the gemstones brilliance. The architectural sharp sides of the ring echo a knife edge design but on a much wider scale."

Chrysoberyl
Chrysoberyl is a rare gemstone hailing from various localities throughout the world such as Russia, Brazil, India, Burma, China, Tanzania, Madagascar, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. One of Chrysoberyl's great attributes is it's excellent hardness and brilliance. It is the third hardest natural gemstone on the Moh's scale of hardness scoring an 8.5 out of 10.
- There are three varieties of chrysoberyl: transparent yellowish-green, cat's eye, and alexandrite. All three varietites are rare and entrancing gemstones.
- Transparent chrysoberyl, as seen in this ring, are found in yellow, golden, green and brown. They exhibit a vitreous luster and excellent brilliance and completely untreated. Well cut specimens display impressive fire and compare favorably with yellow or green sapphires.
