NYC Jewelry Week exhibition by Liz Kantner: Bonded Jewelry from the Stay Gold Collective

This collection of jewelry showcases pieces inspired by community and connection. Both of which I have found within the Stay Gold Collective. Join us Tuesday Nov. 16 for a panel discussion with Liz and members from the Stay Gold Collective to discuss how collaboration and support with other designers leads to success. All jewelry will be for sale starting Nov.16-21, 2021 here. .20% of the profits will be donated to NoLo Studios Residency Program.

The Stay Gold Collective has supported each other through the dark days of Covid, lifting each other up professionally and personally. Find their jewelry alongside my Peek a Boo Opal Snake Earrings. Featured here are necklaces by Cindy Liebel Jewelry, Compass Rose Designs, and Aylee & Co.

The piece I created for this event is called "Pearl Paradise Peek a Boo Snake Earrings". It is sold exclusively through the "Bonded" exhibition through Nov. 21. Click here to purchase.

Community and connection are woven into the inspiration for this earring design comprised of 3 elements: a cascade of freshwater pearls, snake charms, and an unconventional hoop earring that twists around the ear set with a custom cut Ethiopian opal.

Each element is beautiful on its own, but when the individual parts are combined, they create a more dynamic, interesting, and stunning earring. Much like how the addition of support from my professional jewelry community, family, and friends, has added to the overall betterment of my brand, design process, execution, and overall happiness! Their influence and support have given me the strength and confidence to navigate the rough waters of these past two years.

Each element from the earring can be worn individually creating 3 earring looks or all together for a fourth and final eclectic and alluring look.

Look #1: Hoop alone

Metaphorically, I represent the opal hoop, individual, colorful, and slightly ajar. The colorful opal was custom cut for optimal amount of scintillating fire. The hoop is an anchor for the earring with which the charms can hang from. A sweet but striking Ethiopian opal cabochon hangs right below the ear lobe giving this hoop a surprising element and something NEW to add to your jewel box.

Look #2: Hoop + Snake Charm

Snakes represent rebirth, protection, and strength; a talisman representing the people who inspire and give me strength in both my personal and professional life.

Look #3: Hoop + Pearl Cascade

A cascade of freshwater pink, peach, and green pearls hang sensually from the hoop. An additional pink keshi pearl element set with a pink tourmaline gemstone adds an unexpected surprise. The final detail, not to go unnoticed, is the turquoise-colored silk thread hand knotted in between each pearl, bringing in the greens and blues from the opal. Each knot represents a connection between people forming a unifying bond, interest, and goal with which I found within the Stay Gold Collective.

Look #4: Hoop + Snake Charm + Pearl Cascade

When all the charms are worn together and layered over the other, the design is wonderous and energetic in the way the charms sway and interact with each other.
