Coral Tourmaline

One of the most amazing attributes of tourmaline is that it can be found in a rainbow of colors.  Egyptian legend speaks of how tourmaline made its journey from the center of the Earth and passed over a rainbow, taking all the colors with it and assuming them as its own.  Not many are aware that tourmaline can be found in peach to coral hues like this 8mm round faceted coral colored tourmaline.   This color is very rare and unique and would make a stunning cocktail ring or pendant.  Pink to peach colored tourmaline is said to reduce fear and panic.

This tourmaline hails from the tropical country of Brazil in the region of Minas Gerais.  Peach to salmon colored tourmaline gets its color from the trace element manganese.  Tourmaline rates a 7.5 on the Mohs scale of hardness and is suitable for everyday wear.  Also, a birthstone for October babies looking for a rare and unique gem to adorn.
